“フランスのGPカーの頂点ともいうべきドラージュも、1930年代に入ると盛んに高級ツーリングカーや豪華サルーンをつくりはじめた。その美しさは“愛人に贈るならドラージュ”といわれるほど優雅にして華やかなものばかりであった。D8-120はいちばん後期に属する大型高性能車としてもっとも美しいモデルである。コーチワークはすべて専門業者に依頼して、容姿を競いあったのだが、どれもオートクチュールを想わせるいかにもフランスらしいものであった。この美しい力ブリオレはフィゴーニ・ファラッシの手により、ドライエに併合されてからつくられたものである。”

Having won the reputation of being the finest French manufacturer of grand prix cars, Delage began to produce a number of high-class touring cars and luxury saloons in the 1930s. The exceptional gorgeousness of Delage is captured by the famous epithet, “One drives an Alfa Romeo, one is driven in a Rolls-Royce, but one gives only a Delage to one’s mistress.” The D8-120 was one of the last high-performance saloons produced by the manufacturer, and also among its most beautiful. Its stylish design is imbued with an air of French haute couture. This beautiful Cabriolet, with coachwork by Figoni & Falaschi, was built after Delage’s merger with Delahaye.
