Delaunay-Belleville Type HB6L
Formerly a manufacturer of boilers for ships and locomotives, Delaunay-Belleville announced its first automobile at the Paris Motor Show (Salon de l’Automobile) in 1904. The car’s circular radiator grille instantly caught people’s attention, greatly influencing pre-WWI radiator designs along with those of Benz and Renault. The compact and quiet 6-cylinder engine adopted in 1909 was highly reliable, and the vehicle with gorgeous coachwork won the patronage of many world-class celebrities, including Nicholas II of Russia.
