“1960年に登場。初年度に43万台以上を販売するヒット作となった。当初のボディ・バリエーションはセダンとワゴンのみだったが、63年からクーペとコンバーチブルが追加された。「ポニーカー」ブームの火付け役となり、米国自動車史に残るベストセラー車となったマスタングは、ファルコンをベースに開発された。”

This vehicle first appeared in 1960. The Ford Falcon was a hit with consumers and sold over 430,000 vehicles during its first year of availability. The initial body styles were limited to just sedans and station wagons, but by 1963 other models, such as a coupe and convertible, were also added. The Ford Mustang, which would go on to become one of the best-selling vehicles in U.S. automotive history and also spark the “pony car” boom, was developed based on the Falcon.
