66年式、いすゞべレット1600GT PR90型

“1963年に発売されたいすゞベレットは、多様化するニーズに対応するため、シート、ミッション、ハンドブレーキの組合せが自由に選択できるシステムを採用。さらに翌年4月、国産車で初めて車名に”GT”(グランツーリスモ)が冠せられたベレット1600GTを発売した。このベレット1600GTは、SUツインキャブレターを装着し高出力、すばやい加速性などの高性能車として注目され、モータースポーツにおいても活躍した。”

Released in 1963, the Isuzu Bellett offered a variety of seating, transmission, and hand brakes that customers could choose from, to meet the ever diversifying market needs. The 1600GT, announced in April of the following year, was the first Japanese-made passenger car to be labeled ‘GT’ (for gran turismo, or grand tourer). Equipped with an SU twin carburetor, the Bellett 1600GT’s powerful engine and rapid acceleration earned it a reputation as a high performance model, and the car also made a name in motor sports.
