“1960年代、高まりを見せたモータースポーツ熱を背景にプリンス自動車がスカイラインGTを開発。
1965年に発売された2000GT-Bは、これまでのGTをベースに量産、市販化したもので、3連式のキャブレターでチューンされたエンジンとスポーティなステアリング・ホイール、メーター類などの装備を持つスポーツセダンとして人気を博した。
GT-Bの名称は、同年9月廉価版のGT-Aの登場により改められたもの。なお、1966年の日産自動車との合併から1968年まで、スカイラインの車名にプリンス名を残した。”

Nissan Prince Skyline “2000GT-B” Model S54
Amid the growing boom in motor sports in the 1960s, Prince Motor Company developed the Skyline GT series. The 2000GT-B, a production model based on the GT race car, was launched in 1965. Featuring a tuned-up engine with three carburetors, a sporty steering wheel, and a stylish instrument panel, the car won high acclaim as a sports sedan. With the introduction of the low-priced GT-A in September 1965, the earlier GT model was renamed the GT-B. The Skyline retained the ‘Prince’ marque until 1968, even after the merger of Prince and Nissan in 1966.
