☆番外編（クラシック）47年（昭和22年）式.MG ミジェット タイプ TC（U.K./MG）

“量産車モーリスのパーツを使用して１９３６年に発売したMGミジェット・Tシリーズは安価でありながら本格的な味わいを持ったスポーツカーとして人気を博した。その後、数多く誕生する英国製ライトウェイト・スポーツカーの先駆けとなりました。第２次世界大戦後、ヨーロッパに駐留したアメリカ兵が欧州製スポーツカーの軽快さに魅せられ、その後アメリカでスポーツカーブームが起きます。このタイプTCは戦前型であるTBのコックピットを拡大して居住性を向上させたモデルで、後継のTD、TFを含め生産車の多くが輸出され、アメリカのみならず世界中にスポーツカーの楽しさを伝えました。”

MG MIdget Type TC
Built with compornents from the massproduced Morris, the MG Midget T series was introduced in 1936 as an affordable yet high-performance spors car.It proved enormously popular, prompting the production of many other British Lightweight sports cars. American soldiers returning home after serving in Europe during WWⅡ took with them a yearning for agile European sports cars, spurring a craze for sports cars in the U.S.The Type TC on display is based on the prewar Type TB, the main difference being that the cockpit has been enlarged to improve ride comfort.Many of the T series cars were also marketed abroad, including the succeeding Type TD and TF models, spreading the joy of sports driving throughout the world.
