After World War II this Mark 2 model appeared in 1959 as the model change version of the small-sized saloon car from Jaguar called the Mark 1. In terms of its exterior appearance the Mark 2 retained the same classical image and was virtually unchanged from the Mark 1, but mechanically it had made major advances. This model gained fame as a high-performance compact sport sedan and left behind numerous brilliant results in both rallying and road racing.
